"איזו מדינה מטורפת יש לך!" קוראת ביאטריס בשאט נפש. "לא נראה לי שאבין אי-פעם את המנטליות שלכם פה!"
"What a crazy country you have!" Béatrice exclaims disgustedly. "I don't think I'll ever understand your mentality here!"
מה היא רוצה ממני עכשו? "מה עשתה לך המדינה?" אני תוהה.
"יש לכם ראש ממשלה אידיוט, רכיכה ואימבציל!" היא ממשיכה. "אני לא יכולה להבין איך הוא מאפשר לחמאס להוביל אותו באף ולהחליט לכם על סדר היום."
What does she want from me now? "What did the state do to you?" I wonder.
"You have an idiot prime minister, a shellfish and an imbecile!" She continues. "I can't understand how he allows Hamas to lead him by the nose and decide on the agenda for you."
נו, הייתי כבר בסרט הזה לא פעם איתה. להתאזרח היא מעולם לא טרחה ואין לה גם תוכניות לעשות כן. היא חיה את חייה בגולה, אך דעות נחרצות עלינו יש לה ועוד איך! אחרי הפיגוע בהיפר כשר, הואילה משפחתה בטובה להמלט מפאריז ולעלות ארצה. ביאטריס נדדה לגולה אחרת. הבנתי את ההגיון בכך שבחרה בארץ דוברת צרפתית שפרשה לפניה אפשרויות תעסוקה מצודדות שממון בצדן. יחד עם זאת, קשה לי להבין איך אפשר לחוש בית במקום שאינו הבית כפי שאני רואה זאת.
Well, I've been to this movie often with her. She has never bothered to become a citizen and has no plans to do so. She lives her life in the Diaspora, but you bet she has strong opinions about us! After the siege in the Hyper Cacher supermarket, her family decided to escape from Paris and make Aliyah. Béatrice wandered to another Diaspora. I understood the logic of choosing a French-speaking country that offered her attractive employment opportunities with lots of salary benefits. However, it is hard for me to understand how one can feel at home in a place that is not the home as I see it.
אני מסכימה בכל לבי עם דעתה הנחרצת על מי שעומד בראשנו שאיני סובלת (בלשון המעטה!) ורוצה כל כך שילך כבר מאיתנו ונפטר ממעלליו, אך תוהה מאוד אם היא יכולה לחרוץ משפט כשהיא למעשה מבחוץ.
I wholeheartedly agree with her firm opinion of the Prime Minister that I can't stand (to say the least!) and I want so much that he will leave us and we would get rid of him asap, but at the same time I wonder if she can make any , but at the same time I wonder if she can make a judgment when she is actually an outsider.
